                About

I’m excited to join the Capstone Counseling & Coaching community as a prescribing clinician, supporting clients through medication management as part of their holistic mental health care.

I am a board-certified family nurse practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and over 20 years of experience in healthcare, including more than 14 years in advanced practice nursing. My clinical background spans primary care, addiction medicine, and integrated behavioral health, working with individuals and families across a variety of treatment settings—including outpatient mental health and addiction programs, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and community-based tele-mental health services.

In addition to my clinical work, for several years I have served as a clinical nurse educator (CNE-cl) and adjunct clinical faculty member at Duke University School of Nursing. My passion also lies in training future nurses and nurse practitioners in evidence-based practice and compassionate, patient-centered care, especially with vulnerable populations in mental health and addiction treatment settings. I bring this same commitment to excellence, education, and empowerment into my clinical relationships with patients and colleagues alike.

Through my private practice, SerenityMed Wellness Clinic, I specialize in medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and psychiatric medication management for individuals with opioid use disorder, alcohol use disorder, and other substance use disorders, as well as co-occurring mental health diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder. My approach is grounded in evidence-based medicine, trauma-informed care, and a deep respect for each person’s unique recovery journey.

My guiding philosophy is that medication is one essential tool in a broader healing framework. I believe in collaborative, multidisciplinary care that integrates therapy, psychiatry, coaching, recovery planning, and lifestyle supports to cultivate sustainable wellness. I bring both professional expertise and personal insight to my work, which allows me to connect with clients in a genuine and empathetic way.

In joining Capstone, my aim is to complement the excellent counseling, coaching, and trauma services you already offer by integrating medication support in a warm, nonjudgmental environment. Together, we can expand access to high-quality behavioral health care and help clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to move forward in their healing journey.

Outside of clinical practice, I am passionate about creative expression, mentorship, and community connection. I love butterflies—they remind me of transformation—and I find great joy in uplifting others and celebrating growth.
